This recipe is for oat flakes that say 1 or 3 minutes cooking time on the package. The general proportion by volume is oats 1 part to milk 2.5 parts. Scale down the amounts as this makes quite a lot of porridge.
Pour milk into milk cooker and heat until it whistles.
Add oat flakes and stir.
Simmer for 15 minutes.
Add salt and butter, then let it rest in the pot for another 5 minutes.
